 Mr. Schmidt is a shareholder of the firm whose practice concentrates on administrative and environmental law. Mr. Schmidt, a trained geologist, utilizes his insight into environmental regulations to help clients negotiate their way through the various local, state, and federal permitting programs and defending enforcement actions. His administrative/regulatory law practice is focused on helping clients successfully interact with regulators from the various local, state and federal agencies and navigate their complicated licensing, permitting, and disciplinary procedures, as well as presenting their cases at agency hearings. As a member of Huff, Poole & Mahoney's Brownfield Remediation team, he uses his environmental background and knowledge of regulatory agencies to advance re-development of environmentally impacted properties. He is an appointed member of the Virginia Beach City Chesapeake Bay Board. Mr. Schmidt was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 2000. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
